During Learning 2022 we have examined the critical challenges and opportunities facing today’s learning leaders and the organizations they serve. As the conference draws to a close, we turn our attention to what’s next, and what that means to the future of learning leadership.
In this fast-moving closing general session, we’ll examine multiple perspectives on what the future of learning looks like, and what that means to learning leaders like you. We’ll explore the skills we need to develop, the capabilities we need to add to our teams and to ourselves, and strategies that will help put what you’ve learned at the conference into practice in your work.
(Former) Visa and Better Holdco
Minette Chan is a learning executive who was formerly the head of enablement at Better Holdco, where she led the 100+-strong global learning function. Previously, she was head of learning for Global Product at Visa. Minette is recognized as an Innovation Awardee by the Chief Learning Officer magazine and “Top 10 Training Leader” by Training magazine. Her programs have garnered Brandon Hall “Excellence in Learning” awards, including “Best Results of a Learning Program,” “Best Advance in Technology Implementation,” and “Best Certification Program.” Minette holds
an MA in learning design technology from Stanford University, and is a doctorate in education student at the University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Learning and Talent Officer
McKinsey & Company
Heather Stefanski is the chief learning and talent officer at McKinsey & Company, where she is responsible for learning & development and talent management globally. She built McKinsey’s Talent Management function, a dedicated group within the broader People function, and is leading the work to pivot the firm to a skills-focused development culture.
Throughout the past 19 years at McKinsey, Heather has held a broad range of People roles including talent acquisition, professional development, and learning. Prior to her People roles, Heather was a McKinsey consultant serving clients on various operational topics such as manufacturing and supply chain, and product development and procurement. Heather has an MBA and an MA in education from Stanford University, and a BS in engineering and operations research from Princeton University.
Learning Technologies Conference
Donald H. Taylor is a veteran in the fields of learning and development and learning technologies, with experience at every level, from design and delivery to chairman of the board. A recognized commentator and thinker in the fields of workplace learning and supporting technologies, Donald is committed to helping develop the learning and development profession. From 2010 to 2021, he chaired the Learning and Performance Institute. He has chaired the Learning Technologies Conference in London since 2000, hosted its bi-weekly webinar program since 2007, and contributed to conferences worldwide. His annual L&D Global Sentiment Survey, now in its ninth year, attracts responses from thousands of respondents in over 100 countries. The author of Learning Technologies in the Workplace (Kogan Page, 2017), Donald is a graduate of Oxford University and in 2016 was awarded an honorary doctorate by Middlesex University in recognition of his work developing the L&D profession.

Megan Torrance is CEO and founder of TorranceLearning, which helps organizations connect learning strategy to design, development, data, and ultimately performance. Megan has over 25 years of experience in learning design, deployment, and consulting. Megan and the TorranceLearning team are passionate about sharing what works in learning, so they devote considerable time to teaching and sharing about Agile project management for learning experience design and the xAPI. She is the author of Agile for Instructional Designers, The Quick Guide to LLAMA, and Making Sense of xAPI. Megan is also an eCornell Facilitator in the Women’s Executive Leadership curriculum.
